Friday's Writing Prompt Response

So, how'd you do? Did you try Wednesday's writing prompt? Did it give you a little creative boost?

If you did, share it with us. We want to read!

Here is my brief take. Actually, for me this turned into an entire chapter, but I'll only share with you a short paragraph.

This week's writing prompt was: He eased the door...

He eased the door open and slid into the sterile room. On silent feet he moved into the room and stopped at the foot of the hospital bed when the woman’s beaten and battered face came into view under the dim light.

Damn! He hated this part of his job. He hated questioning the innocent victim.

Hope you had some fun. Watch for the next writing prompt next Wednesday.

He eased the door closed and tiptoed down the hall. Watch out for that creak on the second step. So far so good. The silence weighed him down. He didn't want to even breathe so it could remain quiet. Finally the bottom step. Quickly to the door. Locked. Fumble with the latch. God, it's a noisy latch. Ah, open.
Click, click. "Where ya goin, Charlie? Thought I was asleep? Nope. Sittin' on the porch just waitin for ya. Hehe."

JD - Oh, I liked that! Especially the person just waiting for him.

He eased the door closed. He looked at his partner, motioning her to be quiet. He crept to her side and whispered "They are just down the hall and coming this way."

"What are we going to do?" She hissed.

He quickly scanned the room, trying to form an escape plan. He grabbed the chair from the desk, placing it under the vent. Climbing up, he removed the cover.

"Are you nuts?! We'll get caught for sure if we go up there." She whispered.

"We aren't going that way" he replied with a wicked grin.
