The little tips I am about to share with you are simple and straightforward and everyone can and should do them.
A. If you visit someone’s blog – leave a comment.
It is fine and dandy that you send the blogger an email and tell him/her how much you enjoyed the article but you as the responder get no exposure. How will anyone but the blogger know you liked or disliked, or shared a comment about the post.
By leaving a comment, even a small one, more people know you exist. How? Other visitors see your image/avatar next to the comment or your website/blog URL and they click on it and visit your site.
B. If someone leaves you a comment – return the favor and visit his or her blog, leave a comment.
Visiting the blog of someone who was kind enough to leave a comment on your blog will give you an opportunity to find someone else of interest. You could end up following their blog or maybe follow someone else’s blog you find a link to off his/her post.
On top of that, this gives you more opportunity to expose yourself. Every time you leave a comment on another person’s blog you increase your exposure and the chance to get more followers.
C. If you read it – Tweet about it.
This is the simplest thing to do. Half the time there is a button or link on someone’s blog that you can click that will let you leave a Tweet on Twitter about what you just read.
If you found the link to the blog you just read on Twitter, be sure to RT (re-tweet) who you found it from and the link to the blog.
Why? Tweeting gives you an even greater amount of exposure because most people have higher volumes of followers through Twitter than their blog. Tweeps on Twitter are reciprocal and tend to pass the word or in this case tweet to all their tweeps.
Remember social networking only works by spreading the word and these three simple ABCs of networking will make you not an expert, but will get you exposure and the opportunity to meet many interesting and like-minded people.

Last night I worked on a blog post for today and when I finished it, I saw this link for post options. I clicked on it. Inside, it revealed the fact that I could set a date and time for the post.
My chin dropped, leaving my mouth open to catch invisible flies, and my eyes bugged out. "No way!"
After putting my eyes back inside my head and calming my excited heartbeat, I set the time for 6:30 this morning then exited the program.
Now, I am waiting with baited breath to see if the post really does show up at 6:30 this morning. Keep your fingers crossed.
Wow! There are days where time just gets away from you. This morning I got up and after working out (yes, I do that most days for the energy), I made some chocolate lollipops for the Made in NH Expo. Then I made some chocolate books for this Saturday's book signing.
After that, I ordered business cards which seemed to take an inordinate amount of time. Then I moved on to crafting interview questions and tweaking my bio for an upcoming radio interview.
Finally, I did a little bit of writing . . .actually editing in my WIP by putting in the tweaks dad sent back to me.
Between all these things, I emailed friends working on schedules to get together, updated my salon appointments in my calendar which somehow got completely hosed, and spoke to recruiters about various jobs and a possible interview TOMORROW. But that will only work if the VP can meet me up here since I'm already committed in the middle of the day.
Then I realized I hadn't blogged today so here I am. I should probably be writing, but obviously the creative juices went elsewhere so now I'm deciding if I want my hair stylist to put more blonde or red in my hair. Either way, I need something new. You ever feel that way?
Anyway, tomorrow will be all about writing and critiquing unless I go on that other interview.
For those of you who may have not noticed...look!
My blog now looks similar to my website. Gone is the purple and blue. Now it has that suspenseful look.

Sorry for neglecting my blog. Sheesh! It's been one of those weeks. Work has been wicked busy. The psychology class I signed up for turned out to be a dud so I dropped it. Hate that!
But the good news is that my publisher just sent me the pre-proof for my book!!! Yippee!
Now I get to see what they've done for edits and make my own. I love this process!
I'll send out my reply to last week's writing prompt shortly.
As you can see I've been doing most the talking on this blog. But, hey, I can talk with myself anytime. :-)

Thought I'd share with you some recent cool findings. With IT HAPPENS IN THREES being my first book to be published (January 2009), I've been spending a great amount of time researching marketing. Recently I came across "WIDGETS".
So here I am, this computer geek, but a cute one, and I'm doing research on the internet and I just happen to run into these neat things called "WIDGETS". What exactly is a widget?
A widget is a third party tool that takes information you give it (like your blog or RSS feed) and makes it accessible to other places/people by creating this usually customizable look and feel. Then you take this widget and put it on your website or blog or wherever you can. From there anyone who sees it can do the same. It's like social networking with a tool.
Anyone who downloads my BLOG widget can put it on their desktop and see my latest BLOG headings. WAY COOL! In case you haven't noticed them...there are 2 different ones in my BLOGS now. I really like the purple one from www.springwidgets.com. Very easy to create and put where I want.
Now, if you're PUBLISHED author try http://www.adaptiveblue.com/widgets_books.html. They'll create a widget for your books that will link back to Amazon or B&N which will of course help with your marketing and sales.
