Yesterday's Writing Prompt Response

Prompt:

Throwing her purse over her shoulder, Jane opened her front door and froze. . .

My hook sentence:

Throwing her purse over her shoulder, Jane opened her front door and froze as a masked man shoved a black 9-millimeter Beretta in her face.

What did you come up with?? Feel free to share.

Throwing her purse over her shoulder, Jane opened her front door and froze. It was bloody baltic.
Looking down at her perfectly manicured cerise pink toes, daisy flip flops and sparkly toe ring, Jane's bravado evaporated. What was she thinking? She couldn't even dress appropriately for the weather, what made her think she could walk out on Ricky and make it on her own?
The sound of an approaching motorbike spurred her in to action. He'd left work early. Frantically locking the door behind her, Jane vaulted over the side porch and shimmied under the box hedge.
Hoping her flip flops hadn't landed somewhere obvious, she kept a vice like grip on her purse, resisting the obsessive compulsive urge to check her plane ticket for the umpteenth time.

Jennifer,

That's so terrific! You have such a fun creative mind.

Looks like a good start to your next story.

Funny to read what you came up with versus me on the same opening line. :-)
