The longer she waited the closer Eirwen would get to Kian. Heledd paced back and forth in the tiny room she called her home and waited for her master's summons. He wouldn't be pleased, that was for certain.
No, Eirwen was supposed to be delivered to him. They should've been married by now. Instead the troublesome girl had entered Kian's camp and even know her intrigue for the misfit leader grew.
Yes, Rowan would be displeased. And when Rowan was displeased many people would pay.
Heledd didn't try to escape. There'd be no escape. Her only hope was to find Kian's encampment so Rowan's men could storm it.
But the damned girl was blocking her. The child was strong, that was certain. Stronger than even Heledd had realized.
Her task would be much more difficult than she thought.
Great opening line.
